First Trade Of The Year. (And only four shopping days left.)
Ponderosa West sends Marques Colston ($23) and Josh Brown ($4) to The Killer Ds for Ryan Grant ($20), Santonio Holmes ($5) and Jacksonville Defense ($14).
Two top 5 players in their respective categories for a top 10 (grant), another top 10 (jax) and a top 20 (holmes.) Jax isn't priced that super great either. So based on your definition of rape i'd say it's a good thing you didn't become a lawyer after law school.
You are kidding right? Holmes and Colston are ranked almost equal on all boards however Holmes is $5 and colston is $23. So even up it was unfair. In addition, you took a very cheap front line starter at RB for a "top 5 Kicker" and I would guess that unless you can unload a $14 Jax on some poor sod you won't even keep them so I won't even comment on the "add on" defense. Based on you ability to advertise crap as gold its a good thing you became a copyrighter . . .I think.
It's great how the two most lopsided traders in history are going at it... you both have the same gift of turning crap into studded crap... anyway its quite funny but i do agree that it was another great trade for the PondWest.
well I do not think the Dallas Def for any K is lopsided in my direction. BTW congrats to Mase it was a great trade and I give him the props for rebuilding his team. He ends up with a $5 frontline WR and a $20 frontline RB for a way overpriced WR that I guarantee Mase would have thrown back at the end of the day though he would not admit it. But thats not his fault.
Gee Louie D, it's amazing you haven't won this thing more with your football acumen. Or perhaps I should ask, are you on crack? I defy you to show up at the auction with a magazine or print out from a web site that shows holmes and colston right next to each other in the rankings. Colston is top 5 and i haven't seen him lower than 10. Holmes i've seen as low as 23 and no higher than 15. Holmes is a 60 catch guy which in our league doesn't cut it. colston had 100 last year and would go for $40 if he was out there and there was no way i was throwing him back. I'm not denying it was a great trade for me, but jax defense is not anything special, especially at $14. Grant has the potential to be a #1, no doubt, but right now he hasn't played since january and is nursing a hammy. hardly a sure thing. And to DK's point, you shouldn't be giving anyone shit about trades.
I want the sources. Thanks. And don't forget all these lists are based on straight up yardage and TD leagues. SO he (holmes) will be higher on these lists than his value in our league. WRS contribute to three categories in our league and he just doesn't cut it in receptions. When's the last time you said, "gee pippo, we gotta get that guy, he had 52 catches last year. This year he might have 65." Oooohhh, he's a stud.
Great trade by Pondy, I agree. I think Colston is very good and would go for more than $23 but the Maseman got much better quality in return. It shocks me how the D's can be so tough in some trade negotiations but pushovers in others. They were steadfast about not giving up guys that could back into the draft and get taken for more money. I had to practically beg for a $25 Brandon Jacobs in his third year for a $1 solid TB defense and still couldn't breakthrough. Even for an $8 "Teir 1" Braylon they wouldn't give up Marshawn. I think Grant is a bit of a question mark, but at $20 he's a steal. Interesting, maybe I'm smokin the wrong stuff. Mase, please send the "better" herb to the east coast for draft day. See ya in a week or so boys.
Welcome to the 2009 TEP Fantasy Football Blog. In keeping with the times, I thought it was about time we had our own blog. Technology sure has come a long way in the past 15 years. You can now throw away all of those old USA Today's you've been saving, because the TEP's are now bloggin' live from CyberSpace! I hope that with this blog we can move our personal battles, lame ass raps, incessant whining and wry commentary out of the e-mail inbox and onto the Blog. I hope you all enjoy! See you at the draft.
